Each natural pigment has a different set of characteristics, such as liquid absorption, volume, tinting strength, and granulation. Because of these characteristics, they each require a different volume of binder to create the desired paint consistency.
Use our earth pigments to create your own professional watercolours, guache, pastels, tempera, printmaking ink, modelling clay and more!
Safety: Use care when handling any dry pigment; it’s not healthy to breathe any type of dust into your lungs, even if it is non-toxic and natural (like our pigments). Avoid inhaling pigment dust and use a mask when mixing if needed.
Colour: Since computer monitors, tablets and smartphones may differ in how they display colours, the actual pigment powders we sell may differ slightly from their product image as displayed on your device. We do not guarantee colours based on these images.

Natural earth pigments are derived from minerals and other naturally occurring substances and have been used in art and painting for thousands of years, and their unique characteristics include:
-
Color variety: Earth pigments are available in a wide range of colors, from warm yellows and reds to cool blues and greens, as well as various shades of brown. They often have a more subdued and earthy quality compared to some synthetic pigments, which can result in a distinct aesthetic appeal.
-
Lightfastness: Many natural earth pigments have excellent lightfastness, meaning they are resistant to fading when exposed to light over time. This makes them suitable for use in artwork that will be displayed for long periods.
-
Permanence: Earth pigments tend to be quite stable and chemically inert, which can contribute to the longevity of artwork created with them. They generally do not react with other pigments, binders, or environmental factors, which can be an advantage in terms of preserving the integrity of the artwork.
-
Texture: Some natural pigments, particularly those derived from clay or minerals, can impart a unique texture to paint, providing a tactile quality that can be appealing to artists. This can also result in a more visually interesting surface on the artwork.
-
Sustainability: Since earth pigments are derived from natural sources, they can be considered more environmentally friendly and sustainable compared to some synthetic pigments, which may require energy-intensive processes or the use of hazardous chemicals to produce.
-
Historical significance: Natural earth pigments have been used by artists across different cultures and time periods. As a result, using these pigments can create a connection to artistic traditions and historical practices.
It is important to note that the specific characteristics of natural earth pigments can vary depending on the source material and preparation methods.

If you require rush delivery or have a large/heavy order, please contact us. We will try our best to get your package to you the quickest and best way possible. Let us know of any specific delivery needs and we will gladly give you a quote on shipping cost.
Winter Shipping Policy
We take great care to ensure your products arrive in excellent condition, no matter the season. Most items in our catalog do not contain temperature sensitive ingredients and are therefore not affected by cold temperatures. These items ship normally throughout the year.
However, certain products — including our Natural Acrylik Paints, Medium, and Fluid Acryliks — can be damaged if exposed to cold temperatures during shipping. For these select items, additional precautions are taken during colder months.
What We Do to Protect Cold-Sensitive Products
To help minimize the risk of freezing in transit, we:
- Clearly label cold-sensitive products on their respective product pages
- Apply Fragile and Do not freeze stickers to encourage careful handling by carriers
- Monitor weather conditions along major points in the shipping route— although we’re not weather experts, and temperature drops can still happen.
- In some cases, hold orders during periods of extreme cold to avoid spoilage
Please note: While we go to great lengths to package and ship your items with care during cold weather, we cannot guarantee that they won’t be exposed to freezing temperatures in transit. As such, we’re unable to offer refunds or replacements for cold-related damage.
How You Can Help Prevent Freezing
If your order includes freeze-sensitive products, we recommend the following:
- Check the forecast along the shipping route before placing your order
- Select Priority shipping during checkout to reduce time in transit
- Place your order between Saturday and Monday to avoid weekend delays
- Avoid ordering right before major holidays or non-delivery days, such as:December 25 (Christmas Day)December 26 (Boxing Day)January 1 (New Year’s Day)
- Ensure someone is available to receive the shipment immediately upon delivery
- Consider shipping to a business address if no one is home during delivery hours
Final Note
Given the unpredictable nature of winter weather and transit conditions, we cannot issue refunds or replacements for items compromised by freezing during shipment. All cancellations or refund requests are subject to our Return and Refund policy below
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to ensure your natural art supplies arrive safely, even in the coldest months. ❄️🎨
Return & Refund Policy
Return & Refund Policy
Return and Refund Policy
We work diligently to maintain our reputation for quality and value. If for any reason you are dissatisfied with a purchase, we may accept a return or exchange for products purchased as long as the item is unopened and unused. Request will be submitted to the manufacturer for them to decide to accept or decline the return.
All return and exchange requests must be made within 30 days of product receipt.
Upon receipt of your qualified return we will issue a full refund of the purchase price of the item, less the cost of shipping. If your order received free shipping, the cost we incurred to ship the item(s) will be deducted from your refund. Please allow 10 days for processing. Exchanges are subject to a 20% restocking fee (before taxes).
If you are sending back products, you may want to consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance, as we cannot guarantee receipt of returned items without it. Products returned without prior authorization will not accepted.
We do not accept returns or exchanges of any kind under any circumstance after 60 days. If 60 days have gone by since your purchase, then we consider your purchase final sale.
We take every precaution to protect Natural Acrylik items especially during winter shipping, but once an order is in transit, winter delivery conditions can be unpredictable and are beyond our control. As such, these items are not eligible for return or refund if affected by freezing during transit.
If you haven’t received a refund after 10 business days:
- First, check with your bank or credit card company — processing times may vary.
- Then, contact us and we’ll be happy to look into it.
We must receive returns within 14 days from the day the return was approved. We reserve the right to reject any returns and exchanges that do not meet the above conditions.
