Equipped with secure side rails, but without the “cabin effect,” it offers a softer, more delicate look. Thanks to the Removable Barrier option, you can easily take off the large front barrier to help your child transition into a “big kid” bed. Simply choose the option with the removable front rail if you’d like to include it.

Each bed frame is handcrafted in solid wood and comes without a slatted base. For your convenience, you may choose the option that includes a perfectly fitted slatted base with your order— please note that this add-on is only available at the time of purchase. See below for more details.

Handcrafted in Housswood's workshop in France, each bed is made from solid, knot-free raw pine wood, responsibly sourced from FSC-certified protected forests.

Built in accordance with EN 716-1 safety standards, Housswood's beds are designed to be strong and durable, with an eco-conscious approach that even reuses every leftover piece of wood.

During assembly, you can decide on which side you’d like the opening. Floor beds are significantly safer than cribs—without tall rails, there's virtually no risk of dangerous falls as the mattress sits close to the ground. In fact, MontessorifamilyCenter notes that “because the mattress is so low to the ground, the risk of injury from falls is minimal.”

Some families choose to place the opening against the wall at first, so that little ones who move a lot in their sleep don’t slip out. Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on your location, so you only pay what’s needed to guarantee reliable delivery of this unique piece.

A Note about the Slatted Base

For your convenience, we offer the option to include an Ikea® slatted base with your bed frame order. We provide this piece at cost, with only the shipping fee added to cover delivery to our dispatch location and the additional handling required to attach the box securely to your main package. Please note: adding slats will increase overall shipping costs. This piece is not eligible for return or exchange.

You are also welcome to purchase the slats directly from Ikea® — or from any other retailer that carries a compatible size — if you prefer.

Our solid wood bed frames are handcrafted in France with durability and beauty in mind. However, solid wood is not suitable for slats, as it would be too heavy and fragile in that function. Since the artisan makers focus exclusively on solid wood, a separate solution was needed for the base.

If these slats were produced in the same workshop, the cost would be significantly higher. Ikea® offers a reliable, well-designed, and affordable option that pairs perfectly with the frames. In fact, thousands of families in France already use this exact combination with great results, and we are simply bringing that proven system to Canada.

Safety

Safety Reminder

Children should not be left unattended while using the bedframe. Bed bumpers, pillows, and similar soft bedding are not recommended for infants under 2 years old. Health Canada’s safe sleep guidelines state that the safest sleep environment for babies is a firm mattress with no loose, soft items (including bed bumpers).

· For safety reasons place the bed less than 1.5 inches or at least 12 inches away from the wall. The purpose of this is to prevent your child from becoming trapped between the bed and the wall.

· Make sure the room is safe for the child to wander around. This includes covering outlets, removing cords, screw fragile furniture to the wall, etc.

· Always follow your health care provider's requirements for safe sleeping. This may include removing pillows, duvets or covers to avoid suffocation.

Never leave your child unattended.

Please note: the video showing adults and children climbing on the bed frame is intended solely as a demonstration of the product’s strength and durability. This “crash test” is for display purposes only and should not be replicated at home. For safety, children should use the bed frame as intended, for resting and sleeping, under adult supervision.

Shipping

The Tresses à Sissou and Housswood collections are being introduced to Canada for the first time and are sold exclusively through Best Rated Finds. During the launch period, these products have an estimated shipping time of 4–6 weeks. We kindly ask for your patience and understanding during this period, and we sincerely thank you for supporting the arrival of these unique products.

Shipping time within Canada: Your order will ship within 1–3 business days after the products arrive at our dispatch location.

Carriers: Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on weight, dimensions, and destination. Customers may select their preferred carrier option at checkout.
Free Local shipping is available.

Final Cost: The price shown at checkout is the final shipping cost charged to you.

Tracking: Once your order has been dispatched, you’ll receive a tracking link so you can follow your package.

Delivery Delays: If delivery exceeds the estimated timeframe, please contact us so we can open an investigation with the carrier.

In the event of a rate error at checkout Best Rated Finds reserves the right to offer a corrected shipping rate with proof of cost and request to have the cost covered or to cancel the order if the cost is not agreeable to both parties.

1. Change of Mind

We want you to be happy with your purchase. If you change your mind, we accept returns under the following conditions:

The request to return must be made within 7 days of receiving your item.
Items must be unused, in their original packaging, and in resellable condition.
Les Tresses à Sissou products:
For hygiene and safety reasons, opened packages from Les Tresses à Sissou are not eligible for change-of-mind returns.
Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer, and you must arrange your own shipping.
A 10% restocking fee will be deducted from the refund.
Shipping charges paid at checkout are non-refundable.

Refunds will be processed to your original payment method once the returned item is received and approved.

2. Damaged or Defective Items

If your parcel arrives visibly damaged, we encourage you to refuse delivery from the carrier and notify us immediately.
If you accept delivery, please send us photos of the damage upon receipt before opening the package.
Once confirmed, we will arrange a replacement or refund according to your preference (subject to availability).

3. Cancellations

Orders can be cancelled at any time before dispatch from our warehouse in France.
Once an order has shipped, cancellations are not possible, but you may request a return under the conditions above.
